Good to know
When can I get it?
On iPhone, free from the App Store, in Japan, Taiwan, Korea and Hong Kong. Android comes later: join the waitlist and we write once, on the day.
What does it cost?
The first version is free.
Does cycling count?
Yes. Walking and cycling both count. Cars and trains do not: roads and stamps you pass too fast are left out.
Is it a fitness tracker?
No. No calories, no pace goals. It is your own map of the real world, saved like a game save. The reward is: my world got bigger today.
What do you do with my email?
We write to confirm it, and once when the Android app is out. We do not share it. You can leave the list with the link in our mail.
Who owns my walks and my map?
You do. You can get a copy of all of it: every walk as a GPX file, your World and your journal as JSON. You can delete one walk, your history or your account: a deleted account is gone within 24 hours, and what you delete also leaves our backups after 30 days. We never sell it and never use it for ads.
Common questions
Why doesn't my walk show on the map yet?
A walk is saved on your phone first and uploads when you have a connection. Then it is counted, which takes a moment. Parts done by car or train don't count, and very short walks are not saved.
Where does the map work?
Tokyo has the full map, with stations, shrines, parks and stamp books. In Taiwan, Korea and Hong Kong, streets and neighborhoods count now, and more places come later. The rest of Japan is next. Walks anywhere else are saved, and count when we add your region.
Does the app follow me all the time?
No. It records your way only from Start to Stop. When you open a map, it checks where you are for a moment to show the area around you, and we don't keep that. If you forget to stop, it asks whether you are still out, and stops by itself after a while.
How do I keep my World on a new phone?
Sign in with Apple or Google (Me → Settings), then sign in the same way on the new phone. A guest World stays on its phone.
How do I add friends?
Open Together and tap Invite: send a link, show a QR code, or add their username. You both need to be signed in.
Someone's photo or name is not OK, or someone bothers me.
Open their page in Together and tap Report or Block. We look at every report within 24 hours. The rules are in our terms of use.
Can I get a copy of my data, or delete it?
For a copy, go to Me → Privacy → Export my data: every walk and your World as files, kept for 7 days (a new copy every 5 days). To delete one walk, open it and tap Delete this walk. To delete everything, go to Me → Settings → Delete my account.
Something is wrong with a walk or the map.
Write to us with the date of the walk and what you expected to see. A road or a place can be missing from the map data; we fix what we can.
