Privacy in the app
Last changed: 8 October 2026
This page is about the One More Street app for iPhone and Android: what it keeps, why, and which other companies get some of it. The website has its own privacy policy. Privacy on this website
In short
- The app records your way only while you record a walk, from Start to Stop. When you open a map, it checks where you are for a moment, and we don't keep that.
- Your walks and your World are yours. We never sell them and never use them for ads.
- Your position never goes into our logs, crash reports or usage numbers.
- You can delete one walk, all your history or your account in the app, at any time.
Who we are
One More Street is made by OtterVolt Labs. Questions about your data go to: hello@onemorestreet.com
When the app uses your location
Your way is recorded only while you record: from the moment you tap Start until you tap Stop. If you forget to tap Stop, the app asks whether you are still out, and stops by itself after a while. When you open a map (your World, the stamp books, an area), the app checks where you are for a moment and sends that position with its request, to show the area and the places around you. We use it only for that answer and don't keep it. The app does not follow you at other times. If you allow motion, the app uses it to notice when you stand still and remind you to take a break, and counts your steps during a walk. The step count is saved with the walk, as a sign that it was walked.
What we keep
- Your walks: the GPS points of each walk you save, its times and pauses, walk or bike, its step count and your phone's time zone.
- What your walks unlocked: the roads and areas you explored, the places and stamps you found, your XP and badges.
- Your account: a random ID. If you sign in with Apple or Google: the ID they give us, and your name if they share it. We never keep your email address, even when Google sends it.
- Your choices: language, km or miles, who sees your World, your handle, and your home area if you set one.
- Your phone: a random ID for it, iPhone or Android, the app version, its time zone and whether notifications are on. If they are, also the address Apple gives us to send them to this phone (a push token).
- A problem you report about a walk: what was wrong, a note if you write one, and a spot on the map if you pick one. To fix it, we look at that walk.
- Your profile photo, if you add one: only the picture, cut to a circle. Where and when it was taken is removed before we keep it.
- Your friends: who your friends are, the invites you made, the people you blocked with their name at that moment, and the reports you sent about someone's photo or name.
- The notifications we sent you, with their text.
- A copy of your data, if you ask for one in the app: one file with every walk and your World.
- To stop abuse: a scrambled form of your IP address (a keyed hash), when you start as a guest or ask for a copy as a guest. It is never kept with your walks.
On your phone
A walk is saved on your phone first, and uploads when you have a connection. Your walks stay in the app's own storage: they are not copied to iCloud or Google backups. When you sign out or delete your account, the app removes them from the phone at once.
What we do with it
We count your walks, fill in your map and show you what is still out there. We keep your World safe, so it comes back on a new phone when you sign in. Crash reports help us fix the app, and usage numbers show us which parts people use. We never sell your data, never use it for ads, and never use it to follow you across other companies' apps or websites.
Who sees it
In the app you choose who sees your World: your friends (the first choice) or only you. Friends always see your name, photo, level and km. With friends chosen, they can also compare maps with you, which shows the streets you explored, and see what you found in “This week”. If you set a home area, it is hidden from them and on everything you share. A share card is made on your phone and goes only where you send it. A public page (World Link) comes later: it will be off until you turn it on, and its map blurred.
Your profile photo is seen by you, your friends and people you invite to be friends, never on a public page. You can report someone's photo or name, or block them; we look at each report within 24 hours.
Other companies that work for us
These companies help us run the app. Each gets only what is written here.
- Cloudflare runs our servers and stores your data. Your account, your walks and your photos are stored in Asia-Pacific. Your World (what your walks unlocked) is kept in a Cloudflare data center near where you first used the app. Our logs there never hold a position, and are kept for 7 days. Cloudflare also keeps our walk numbers (distance, new roads, level) for 3 months, under a random ID that only we can tie to you.
- Cloudflare Workers AI looks at each profile photo before we keep it, to refuse nudity, violence or hate. Cloudflare does not use it to train its models.
- Sentry (USA) gets crash reports: what the app was doing, from a fixed list of steps and error codes, the app version, the phone model and the system version. When a walk can't upload, it also gets the walk's ID, so we can find it. It never gets a position, a name or who you are, and keeps no IP address.
- Amplitude (USA) gets usage numbers: that the app was opened, or that a walk was saved, with the ID Apple gives our app on your phone (not the advertising ID), its model, system and language. It never gets a position, an area, a place or your name. The app tells Amplitude to keep no IP address, so no city or country is worked out from one.
- Apple or Google, if you sign in with them: they tell us the ID and the name written above. Google also sends your email address; we don't keep it.
- Apple sends our notifications (the Apple Push Notification service). It gets the text of each one, which can hold a friend's name, an area's name and how much of it you explored.
- Google (Gmail) holds our mailbox. When you write to us, your mail and our answer are kept there.
How long we keep it
- Your walks and your World: until you delete them. The rest of your account: until you delete the account.
- If you never sign in, we delete everything after 12 months in which you do not use the app.
- A deleted account is gone within 24 hours. What you delete is also gone from our backups after 30 days.
- Our server logs: 7 days.
- Notifications we sent: 90 days. A push token: until the app has not been opened on that phone for 60 days.
- A friend invite: 7 days to accept it, deleted 30 days later. Lines in “This week”: 30 days.
- A copy of your data: 7 days, then it is deleted.
- The scrambled IP address: 2 days.
What you can do
- Delete one walk, all your history or your account, in the app.
- Get every walk and your World as files: in the app, Me → Privacy → Export my data (a new copy every 5 days). You can also write to us.
- Turn off location, motion or notifications at any time in your phone's settings. Without location, the app can't record walks.
- Ask us what we keep about you, and to correct or delete it. Write to us and we answer within 30 days: hello@onemorestreet.com
